It has been said that Jeff Berlin is one of the most talented artists who ever picked up the electric bass. He certainly is one of the world’s most influential bass players. Jeff is a player who commands respect from all of the greats in jazz, rock, funk and blues and from players of all instruments. He is a legend of the electric bass. Simply put, he is considered by many to be the finest electric bass player in the world.
Jeff is known as a major innovator through his incisive playing through recordings and performances for the last thirty years. Jeff has performed with artists as diverse as Billy Cobham, John McLaughlin, Jermaine Jackson, Issac Hayes, Bill Bruford, Yes, Allan Holdsworth, Toots Thielemans, Larry Coryell, David Liebman, Arturo Sandoval, Michael and Randy Brecker, Mike Stern and Bill Frisell. He has jammed with the super-stars of jazz and rock, from Pat Metheny, Van Halen, Rush, pianist Bill Evans, bassists Jaco Pastorius, Stanley Clarke, and even played a TV show with pop singer Donnie Osmond.
He is a hero to Rush bassist Geddy Lee who referred to Jeff as “the greatest bass player on the planet.” Jack Bruce, the legendary bass player with the supergroup Cream referred to Jeff as “the best bass player I ever heard.”

The founder of The Players School of Music in Clearwater, Florida, Jeff has been at the front of music education for two decades. He has appeared at clinics throughout the world, and has been featured in nearly every major music magazine. Elliott Rubinson, the president of Dean is such a fan that he offered to build Jeff a model bass that is now being sold world-wide, called simply, the "Jeff Berlin" by Dean.
Jeff has released six solo CD’s, Champion, Pump It! Taking Notes, In Harmony's Way, and Lumpy Jazz. The sixth CD called Aneurthyms is Jeff newest solo effort full of his savant-style bass playing and 10 new compositions by Jeff. Interestingly, all of his solo CD’s were recorded on just one bass guitar, his Jeff Berlin model instrument.
